The difference is when you are at Bar 1 beat 1 the sequencer is stopped and then you hit play so the sequencer needs to do stuff first. You can’t do that if you are trying to start on beat 1 bar 1 all the time. The problem is of course while the sequencer is getting ready to play, that very first note etc sometimes gets dropped.Īlso if you want to put in program changes or any data (automation) before the first beat of your music you can also do it. Problems that simply go away when you move your whole arrangement to start on beat 1 bar 2/3 instead. You can use beat 1 bar1 of course and most of the time it will work but what I have found over the years is that also you can get some occasional problems too.
